To set up your paywall you must use the CLIPKICK desktop application. Management of your paywall cannot be done in the mobile applications. After logging in, you go to the drop down menu in the upper right-hand corner or your My Clips page and select Paywall.
Here you connect with our payment partner Stripe by clicking the Connect With Stripe button. Here you’ll accept their terms of service and connect your bank account. All payments from your paywall will go through Stripe and be transferred directly to you, minus CLIPKICK and transaction fees*. Select Your Country and you will be directed to the Stripe website.
Once you’ve set up your account in Stripe, you go back to your dropdown menu, select Paywall again, and now you’ll be able to build out your paywall.
So, let’s pretend we are Sue and set up her first paywall. The first thing you want to do is set up your About Page. Here. You’ll upload a video about you and your products and a cover image for the video by clicking Update Video.
Then you add a description of yourself and your digital products by clicking Update Description.
Then, for example, Sue wants to sell her e-book. Let’s set up her e-book in a lineup. First she creates the lineup by clicking Create Lineup and adding a title and description. Here she can also select Master Chat Group to allow for all subscribers to chat as a community. She can charge a premium for her e-book, by offering access to her and her community to people that purchase the e-book.
The description of the lineup will appear to the public in her paywall. Then she uploads a pdf of her book by clicking Add Media and selecting image or document, then selecting the file from her computer. She then saves the media to the new e-Book lineup she created. When you open the lineup and click on the e-book, it securely opens in a pdf viewer so it can’t be downloaded and distributed by anyone else.
Now she goes to her paywall from the drop-down menu and is clicks Add Plan. Here she enters the Title, the Amount of the plan, a Description of the plan, and then if she wants the billing to be Monthly or One-time only. Now she Selects Lineups to add to the plan. Check Allow for Saving and Download if you want to let subscribers download the original file. If Allow Saving and Download is not selected; subscribers will only be able to stream or view your files in the app. In this case let’s say she just wants people to read the book, but not be able to download and distribute it.
Now she clicks Submit, and our trust and safety team will review the content to make sure it complies with our community guidelines.
Once she gets approval, she will get a notification, and the paywall will become available to the public.
She can add more plans by clicking Add Plan again. Let’s add a platinum plan with two of her lineups.
You can edit or delete existing plans by clicking Edit or Delete above a plan. You can preview her paywall by clicking Preview. You can also see her earnings by clicking Earnings. If you delete a plan all subscribers to the plan will be cancelled, but they will still be able to access the plan content until their current billing cycle is completed.
Once your paywall is complete and approved, it is available to public on Clipkick.com/your username. Add this link to your social media profiles and distribute it however you like to start getting subscribers and making revenue.
